Associate of Science (AS) programs are career degree programs that consist of specialized education (which may include studies in humanities, behavioral sciences, business, natural sciences, mathematics & technology) in addition to studies in specific career fields. Career degree programs are designed to prepare you for employment in a variety of areas as well as, in many cases, to enable you to transfer to a comprable program at a four-year school. Most AS degree programs require some elective coursework in liberal arts. You should work closely with your academic advisor to select courses, especially if you do plan to transfer to another school.
